Blade Runner 2049 Review
Blade runner 2049 is a sequel to the 1982 film Blade Runner and one i saw late last year but it has stayed with me ever since. For those of you who don't know or haven't seen the original the film series is based and inspired by the book Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep by Philip K. Dick which follows the idea of what it means to be human and what are the qualifications that would make us " Human", The films follow the same ideas and beats. 2049 follows Officer KD6-3.6, or 'K' for short played by Ryan Gosling, an android or how they call them in this world "Replicant". K is a member of the LAPD tasked with finding and 'Retiring' other rogue replicants, the people and replicants tasked with this job are called Blade Runners. When retiring one said replicant he finds a truth that shouldn't have been found and so the story begins.
I quite enjoyed this film i'm sure enough to say its top 5 for me. Everything from the acting, script, music, and cinematography were top of the line, although my favorite of all was the cinematography. Director Dennis Villeneuve and cinematographer Roger Deakins have done a fantastic job in representing the characters emotions and motives through camera work and color alone. the purples and blues in the film make you feel sad and melancholic and the orange tones make you feel tense and on edge. The music also helped tremendously in the swallowing the viewer into its world. The soundtrack was made by the ever popular Hans Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfisch
whom are industry pros. My favorite track is sea wall which plays near the end.
All in all Blade Runner 2049 is an amazing film which deserves all of its praise and i rate it a 10/10
Look like a great movie. I'll put it on my watchlist.

DeleteSeem like a good movie I watched the original one from 1982. Is it a remake or is it a new story line with similar aspects?
ReplyDeleteIts a sequel to the 1982 film so it is indeed a new story continuing the plot from the original including the return of Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard
